Crowdfunding is the process whereby a project is funded by many individuals making (usually small) contributions to the cause or project. The funders do not expect anything in return, but might get either a financial, material or service in return if the project is successful.
Micro investment is similar to crowdfunding, however the key difference is that if the idea, project or business is successful the investor is guaranteed to receive either dividends, a product or service in return. It is important to remember that micro investment has risks which may include total loss of your investment.
